OK...you might think this is cheezy but it can be a lot of fun...

There are several shareware computer Karaoke programs that seem to be
quite good that I've been experimenting with.  In my case, I've placed
my notebook computer by the music stand connected with an external
midi-interface to my Pianodisc system.  

Karaoke files have a ".kar" extension rather than a ".mid"  Of course
the quality of these files varies just as any midi file.  I've edited a
couple of these by changing some of the instruments to "piano" and
changing the channel to "1" so it will play the actual piano rather
than "synthesized piano".  I'll see if I can put these in the VAULT.

You can modify any karaoke file by renaming the extension to *.mid,
editing it with sequencer software like Cakewalk, and then renaming it
back to *.kar.  The lyrics are preserved during this operation.

After a couple bottles of wine, no one will really care if the volume
of the tunes vary, or the some of the lyrics are off--just hit the
"fast foward" button and go to the next song.
