Re: [disklavier] Velocity EXE program and how does it work?

2003-06-26 by Carol Beigel

All the Windows programs will work in XP - like Veloset, EseqtoMid and
gnmidi. It is only dkcopy that needs real DOS, not virtual DOS, and will
not work in XP or NT Windows modes. Much to my amazement, the old Ana Disk
program works in a DOS window in XP. Even using the Giebler utilities, XP
will not format a 720k floppy disk - and that is a problem.

You can get laptops for next to nothing these days that run Windows 3.1, or
Windows 95 or 98. I keep a couple around just for the Disklavier utilities.
