I am living in the tropical part of the United States in the Rio Grande Valley and ready to jump in my pool because it is here 89 degrees. I can do with my disklavier what I want it to do. There are tons of midi files I can download and play on my disklavier. There is a lot of rock, blues, jazz and country. I pay my pianotechnician only for tuning. I can also force my piano to play the melody. But I have a computer and software, a PowerMac and Encore from G Vox, and I know how I have to use both computer and software. I purchesed my brand new disklavier the black upright MX- 100A in April 1991 nearly nine years ago for 6500 dollars with a trade in for my old acoustic Baldwin piano that I bought in 1981 for about three thousand dollars, so all together about 9500 dollars. The only trouble I ever had was a broken string that had to be replaced and a few burned out fuses, because I played quatre mains (four handed) pianomusic with too many notes, too loud for the fuses. Mia culpa! I was to blame for it. So I can honestly say that I have no problems worth mentioning. May be the reason is that I drink no wine, but only water from the Rio Grande. However to be on the safe side I filter it first. Clarita
