Re: [disklavier] What are the differences between models?

2003-10-09 by Carol Beigel

All the pianos are the same, just the electronic features are different. A
C5 is a 6'7" Yamaha grand piano Conservatory model.

A DC5 would be a C5 piano with a MarkIIXG Disklavier system.

A DC5A would be a C5 piano with a MarkIII Disklavier system. This is the
latest model. It has upgraded solenoids, more voices, more memory capacity,
and comes with a CD player, a Silent system, transposable audio, speakers
and does SmartKey and PianoSmart.

A DC5Pro is a C5 piano with the Pro system. This uses servo technology in
both the key and pedal solenoids to give you an extremely accurate recording
mode. It also has about 700 voices and upgraded memory. Does not come with
speakers, but has the Silent system.

A DC5APro is a C5 piano with the Pro system, but has all the audio features
of the MarkIII system. It comes with a CD player , Silent Mode and
transposable audio. I don't know if speakers are included, but I think so.

Of course, the best explanation of the features would come from a sales
associate at a Yamaha dealer.

Hi - I've been reading the list for a bit, this is my first post...

Can someone explain the difference between the flavors of Disklavier?

What is the difference between:

DC5
DC5A
DC5PRO
DC5APRO

?

Thanks
