Disklavier

No, you don't even have to have a computer or software.

You can play PianoSoft files and some other similar commercial files. 
Better, you can play the instrument, or invite a pianist over, to record 
files of your own.

I'd suggest going slowly first and getting accustomed to your 
instrument.  Then, you might wish to download MIDI files from this site 
and learn to transfer them to diskette to play.

Once you are comfortable with that, you might consider projects that 
require modifying other downloaded MIDI files.  PowerTracks 
(www.pgmusic.com) and the utilities available on this site will be useful.

When you are comfortable with the preceding, you might wish to interface 
your computer to the DKV.

I suggest you approach all this in small steps.  The way to eat an 
elephant is one bite at a time.  Good luck!
