Pacinad,

A very common question with a potentially complicated answer. The
reason for that is that even though you bought the Disklavier in
November it may be a used older model. Here's the scoop:

Some older model disklaviers only played a proprietary format (ESEQ)
and these needed to be on a specially formatted diskette.

Newer Disklaviers can play just about any of the proprietary formats
and standard MIDI type 0 and 1.

Assuming your Disklavier is not only new to you, but a newer model I
would suggest the following.

1. In the Files section of this group go to the Utilities folder and
download "dkvutils.zip". Unzip the files so you have these utilities
available to you.

2. In the files section download whatever songs (or groups of songs)
you are interested in. Some groups of songs may be "zipped" together
and will need to be unzipped.

3. If the file you download ends with ".fil" use the ESEQ to MIDI
utility (downloaded in step 1) to convert it to MIDI. Otherwise
continue on to step 4.

4. Copy the MIDI files you want to play to a blank diskette. Put the
diskette in you disklavier and press play.

Much more can be done, but this should get you started. While your
listening to your new Disklavier you may want to read through the
posts on this message board. A good portion of the discussions
center on getting music in a disklavier playable format.

Most of all, have fun with your new Disklavier.

Brian
