I am happy to announce that an individual well
known to us all, Gary Lloyd, has joined our group. Gary joined with the
understanding that he will listen a lot more than he will talk. Many years
of heavy participation in groups like this have taken their toll. Although
it does not affect his fine piano talents, Gary has been told to severely
curtail his typing activities or face Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Therefore I
am not providing a link to his email, since he feels obligated to answer mail
that he probably shouldn't. His lovely wife Annette has also
joined.
Here is a link to their websites, where you will
find an extensive collection of classical works, played as only Gary can.
If you collected his classical works off his site a while ago, you may want to
check it out again. Gary tells me he has re-recorded virtually everything,
because he knew he could do a lot better job on them now (hard to
believe). Flight of the Bumblebee is my nine-year-old's personal
favorite. She hasn't quite mastered it herself,
however.
Gary is
also getting into MP3 in a big way. His rare, and highly sought
after, performances of post 1925 music can be found in our site's file
vault. With any luck, Gary will upload more popular music to our
vault, now that he has a safe place to put them. He used to have some
great Brubeck on his site. His real love, however, is classical. The
non-classical material is no longer available on his web site for reasons we all
well understand. Most of these midis (the Vince Guaraldi "Peanuts"
music and Rhapsody in Blue) are also available on my family
website.
For those of you who have been living in a
closet and don't know of Gary, he lives in southern Florida just west of Ft.
Lauderdale/Coral Springs. He is dedicated full time to teaching, handling
over 60 private students per week. His midi recordings are done on a
Clarinova. He is quite accomplished at midi editing and endorses Master
Tracks Pro over cakewalk for solo piano work.
Everyone please join me in welcoming Gary
aboard!
