I have been driving my DKV (an old wagon grand) via MIDI cables from a Windows 95 machine for years. I'm now not sure that it ever worked completely correctly, but it took a definite turn for the worse after I tried to use RealVNC to control it through my home network (got too lazy to walk into my computer room to change my selections).
In any case, the symptom is that notes seem to be getting cut short, with short notes quite often getting cut so short that they don't even sound. I suspected that the RealVNC driver was screwing with the interrupts, but uninstalling it didn't seem to solve the problem. Any ideas?

Also, does anyone recommend a USB to MIDI setup
that runs reliably on XP?
