The DCD1 CD Player adds audio (people singing or
prerecorded orchestral sounds) to your MIDI features
( the piano playing and tone generated ensemble
sounds). It allows you to buy MIDI music for your
disklavier on CDs. It also allows you to purchase
PianoSmart floppies that play along with CDs you may
already have. You can buy from Yamaha a pianosmart
collection that will work on your unit, but the audio
is not as transposable as the MarkIIIs.

the additional features that the DCD1 offers on my
piano, are worth the $1000 for this option. I value
the opinions of the members of the forum, so that's why
I am asking here, in addition to checking with my local
Yamaha retailer.
