Help! I have been to looking at a second hand Yamaha Disklavier MX100II piano in the UK (Liverpool) that seems to have a problem with its floppy drive (I think). When I put a disk in the drive it seems to try and read the disk and then says that its not formatted. When I then try and format the drive it says: WRITING TO DISK DO NOT REMOVE DISK .for around 60 seconds and then says: CANNOT FORMAT! I have tried with no luck: 1) Formatting both DD and HD disks (new and old) 2) A standard floppy cleaner disk 3) Previously recorded Yamaha disks All have the same effect of not reading the disk. Without the floppy drive I am then unable to check if anything else works on the piano. I was wondering: 1) Is it the floppy drive that's faulty? 2) Can the floppy drive be replaced with a standard OEM (pc or laptop) type drive? 3) Can the whole control unit be replaced? 4) Is there anyone in the UK that maybe able to get it fixed or give me some advice? The piano is being sold for around the 1500 uk pounds mark so it seems a real bargain *IF* I can get it working. Many thanks for anyones help with this! Mark.Carline@... p.s. I am not sure if this helps but the piano has two serial numbers on it - One on the rear has label reads "2992" and one under the main top which reads "5247590"
