Some Technical Questions

2005-11-17 by maxmannnn

Hello All,

I recently purchased an older Disklavier (mx100a). I'm very excited
to find this message board, and I intend to post some of my own
creations as time permits. 1st things 1st though... I've got a few
problems with disklavier I'd like to get ironed out. I've searched
through this forum at some length and can't seem to find answers I'm
looking for. Any help is MUCH appreciated!

1. All the keys sustain well, except for a few, and they seem like
they have a slightly "dampened" sustain. A casual listener may not
be able to tell, however it really bugs me... Can this be fixed?

2. It seems like there is a very small vibration on the top or upper
back of the piano when certain keys are played. Is this normal?
Again, don't mean to be picky, but it bugs me.

3. Can any tuner out of the phonebook tune my mx100a? Or is there a
resource I should tap into for this? This piano was moved from
Austin to Colorado Springs... should I wait before tuning?

4. There is currently a DKC500RW for sale on ebay. Would it improve
my mx100a, or should I just pony up for the dsr1?

5. Concerning the 500 ms delay, I've read it can be disabled, and to
look in the manual. I don't see instructions on how to do it.. can
someone spell this out for me?

Thanks again for any help!
