Disklavier

I Have just purchased a used Disklavier.  It's a G1 (piano model) and has a
large floor standing cabinet that contains the DK control unit.

 

The SN is 4970805 (I think there is an RE prefix before the number).  Can
you tell me roughly it's age and something about the DK part of it please?

This situation can happen when static electricity hits
your control box.  During the heating season, just
walking across the carpeting in the room and turning on
the DKV can cause this.  The following sequence will
reset your piano type.

Press the Power button while pressing the L and R
buttons to enter Test Mode.

Press Yes once to select CTRL SHEET

Press >> once.  You should see the following displayed
(or something like this).  The first line is the
version of the software and date you have in current
use, so it may not match exactly my example here.  The
second line is what is important.  The 55RCD is the
model of the control box; the ENG is the language which
can be changed by pressing L or R; REC means the DKV
has recording capabilities; GP is the piano type which
you change by pressing NO or YES buttons to change the
piano type; S means the piano has a Silent system
(which is toggled by the RECORD button); and the DB51
is the tone generator.

To change the piano type, press the YES or NO button to
match your piano type.  The options are as follows:

    UP                MX100II/IIXG, MX500/22/16
    GP                DGPII/IIXG, DGA1
    S4                 S4II/IIXG
    UPS              MPX100II/IIXG, MPX70
    GH1              Playback only
    GT                DGT2IIXG/DGT7
    GPS              DGPS/MarkIII (except for DGA1)
    GPS-X          DKVPro
    CFPRO        CFS-X

Sometimes, the solution is to do a RESET on your
Disklavier when all else fails.  To do this, press the
FUNCTION key on the control box, and press -> until the
cursor in next to the  Reset option.
Refer to the advance owner's manual, page 72 for
details if you don't want to also reset a memory disk.

Try keeping the relative humidity around your
Disklavier to around 42 to 50 percent.
