reply[disklavier] Other options for floppy disks

2006-01-26 by rjs

The below message got me thinking that I had an flasHpath and never thought to try it in my DC5SGII. So I did. With midi files loaded on a smartdisk 64mb, I went to the piano with great anticipation... . My unit said unformated disk. So i tried to format it and it progresses thru the pformat 99,98 .. 0 , push any button to continue and then says unformated disk. I checked the unit in several computers and it works ok (XP requires downloaded drivers)
D
I'm open to trying suggestions. 128 mb would be just what I want ( continuous music for a whole evening like through a party)
thanks
rob

Has anyone tried to use a flashpath floppy that takes smartmedia memory
cards into a floppy disk on a disklavier floppy drive? With this floppy
disk, you can have a 128mb memory card available through a floppy disk. The
main problem that I could see with this on the disklavier would be the need
to group files in folders. (not sure if this is possible) 128mb of midi
files all at the same level would be tedious to navigate.

The link below describes the disk and how it is 3x faster than a normal
floppy disk.
