I am still curious about this topic though, and have been wondering if it would be possible to connect a PocketPC or Palm device to the disklavier like a laptop does. A midi player program could be run on the device. These pocketPC devices can now support large flash memory and could easily hold a whole library of music. I know this is supported in newer models, but it would be a nice option to "upgrade" those of us keeping our older pianos. Rod ******* Hi Rod, There were a couple of articles I noticed in some magazines a while back that had reviews of such programs for sale. I personally haven't tried any of them. I couldn't remember the names of the programs, but did a quick Google search and turned up some freeware and shareware versions: http://palmtops.about.com/b/a/192134.htm http://www.freewareppc.com/multimedia/gsplayerformidi.shtml http://www.pocketpccity.com/software/pocketpc/PocketMIDI-2001-7-31-ce-po cketpc.html You would obviously also need a MIDI interface on the PocketPC <or> Palm unit. Or maybe use the serial port on either along with the RS232 serial port located on some of the Disklaviers? Danny >>>>>> Danny, I have seen some of the midi players - the hard part seems to be the cabling. There is a product called MPORT that will work with a few Ipaq's. I am still looking for a solution for my Dell Axim. Rod To Post a message to the group, send it to: disklavier@...
