It would seem that because the flashpath needs drivers to work on an XP
computer, that it would need support by Yamaha to make it work -
probably not going to happen.
I am still curious about this topic though, and have been wondering if
it would be possible to connect a PocketPC or Palm device to the
disklavier like a laptop does. A midi player program could be run on the
device. These pocketPC devices can now support large flash memory and
could easily hold a whole library of music.
I know this is supported in newer models, but it would be a nice option
to "upgrade" those of us keeping our older pianos.

There were a couple of articles I noticed in some magazines a while back
that 
had reviews of such programs for sale. I personally haven't tried any of
them.

I couldn't remember the names of the programs, but did a quick Google
search and 
turned up some freeware and shareware versions:

You would obviously also need a MIDI interface on the PocketPC <or> Palm

I have seen some of the midi players - the hard part seems to be the
cabling. There is a product called MPORT that will work with a few
Ipaq's. I am still looking for a solution for my Dell Axim.
