THanks. 1) The piano is made in Japan, not in the USA, so to buy in the USA you have to pay extra transportation etc. 2) As you say, the wood needs to be treated longer for the US market. 3) People in the USA pearn more (on average) and have more disposable income than those in Japan. 4) People in the US will pay more for things. I think in the US there are more factors involved in pricing - at least that's what has been claimed previously when pricing differences have come up.
