attempts to make the process of converting a standard MIDI file to a
file for an antique reproducing piano. The idea is to make the
process a little less painful by recognizing some of the velocity
changes and generating the appropriate expression control codes
autolmatically.
I was hoping to find a couple of good piano solo performances for the
demonstration and specifically wanted to use "Summertime" from "Porgy
and Bess" and also "All That Jazz" from "Chicago" since I will be
giving the demo in Chicago. I have spent hours downloading files from
the internet and any of the good ones are highly orchestrated and
would take a lot of work to reduce to piano solo. All of the piano
solos I have found are terrible or worse, metrically arranged
performances that sound like first week piano students playing.
I have no problem paying for the files but have no idea where to
look. I would also be interested in trading if anyone has a recording
that they have made. I want recordings (MIDI piano only) that sound
like high quality live performances, not metrically arranged crap. I
don't have the time to find a pianist and make a new recording. There
must be some good ones already.

If you want to search the Internet, just type, Summertime,
Yuko Ohigashi.
