Re: Mark IV Connecting a computer to the I/O center Yes, I have added pictures to my tablet ... do you have a tablet for your Mark IV? I added the photos (in jpeg format with file extension .jpg) wirelessly. I have a Mac with a wireless airport network. Look for a network called "DVK##### " ( where ##### are numbers) and click on that network to connect to. On a Mac that network icon appears on my desktop and then I click on it to open it up and then see a folder called "My Picture". Not sure how you connect and such for PC, but would suspect it is similar. Note: When connecting allow 10 minutes or so for the DSK ##### to show up as the network to connect to and then the "Picture Folder" should appear on the Macintosh desktop and drag jpeg files into it. I was told by technical help at Yamaha that this is the only thing you can put on the hard drive as they don't want anyone messing up the system, so you don't have access to transferring midi files as yet. The ability to wirelessly download upgrades to the system of the Mark IV is future development as well. Currently the wireless network is there, for jpeg transfer ONLY, but the folders that contain system and midis are protected now to prevent people accidently erasing info. They will set up some sort of temp folder to transfer the midis bought online and password to add these to your hard drive ..... The disklavier has an underlying Linux system computer onboard. I originally was going to try to use the cable to cable connection using a cross-over ethernet cable, but it does not work and the technician verified that was true. It is much easier to go wireless than hook up cables anyway. I did have problems with uploads from my Mac as the jpeg files on my Mac had hidden files for data called metadata and this I believe somehow caused the tablet to view these hidden files as "blank pictures" for every jpeg file that I had. Which was annoying to say the least. I finally got about 10 jpeg photos transferred successfully with only one blank picture. I can live with that. I don't believe that jpeg file structure on a PC will result in any problems. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Hope this helps -Joan--- In disklavier@yahoogroups.com, "mimibighead" <TCHEN93816@...> wrote: > > Can anyone please share with me how to upload personal JPEGs into the > tablet?
