RE: [disklavier] Downloading

2006-10-04 by Michael Weinstock

Hi Neal,

My understanding is you can't play midi files from the CD drive so thats not
really an option. The CD drive is for the pre-recorded PianoSoft and
PianoDisc recordings etc.

The easiest option to attach a floppy drive to an existing computer without
having to physically install one (unless that is what you prefer) is to
purchase an external USB floppy drive. These are recognized automatically
on Windows 2000 and Windows XP and no driver installation is necessary. An
added benefit is that a USB floppy drive is a portable solution so you can
move it between computers as need be.

A quick search on ebay for USB floppy drives show prices between USD$15-30
including shipping. I suspect they are also readily available from your
local Best Buy or Frys or CompUSA etc.

Subject: [disklavier] Downloading

Hi:

I have a Disklavier unit with a floppy drive and a unit for a CD drive. I
have found sites where I can purchase some great music, but they all
download to a floppy. My problem is I have only a R/W CD drive on my
computer. So....can I download to a CD from my computer or am I better off
to purchase a floppy drive and just make life easy by going with the flow?

Thank you.
