Modelled digital piano

2007-01-10 by James Fry

Hi all,

This isn't directly disklavier related, but could be of interest to
those that use the silent system on their pianos and want a more
realistic digital piano reproduction. Pianoteq have produced a digital
model of a piano and made it available as a VST for quite a reasonable
sum (I think \ufffd250). The audio demos can be found on
http://www.pianoteq.com/audiodemos. There is a trial version available -
can't wait to try it! Full harp resonance modelling, pedal modelling
etc, and pretty much every parameter of the piano is tweakable - size,
hammer felt hardness, etc. And its only 8mb - I think it compares quite
favourably to things like Ivory, especially given the size.

Regards

James
