Hi Bob,
No,I do not need any payments. I am glad to be of some use.
Please give me time and you may have to remind me if you do not get it within the month or two. I will try and andmake a couple ofCd'swhich will contain folders of different type of music such as classical , Easy listeningg and so on.That way we will not mix classical with Pop etc. HoweverI am not familiar withtheDSR1 and its file reading capabilities. If thedrive in the DSR1canotrecognisefolders you may have to copy themto the root directoryoffresh CD's.
A Lady by the name of Carol Begal who is also a member of this group helped me a lot. She passed me the Disklavier utilitieswhich I can give you a copy of if you wish. This may not be useful for you if you are changing from a mark 2 to a DSR1 as it reads Midi files directly. The mark 2 did not play Midi files hanceyou needed this to copy and convert midi to Yamaha's format to be able to play directlyfrom the DKC100.
I dont think I have any use for Cakewalk and I will send you that as well.
The transposability is the ability for the system to tune the music from the CD to play the key that the piano has settled down to. That is if the piano pitch has shifted (happens to the best of pianos due to temperature variations etc) and is slightly out of tune with the key of the CD with backing tracks and othee voices, the system will transpose the pitchof the sounds from theCD electronically to suit the pitch of the piano so that it all sounds thesame note. This feture is there in the new mark4 disklavier.
If I were to hook up speakers,I would do itaway from the piano. Speciallynot under the soundboard.Even the new yamaha mark4 comes with a speaker fixed under the soundboard.Being a mechanical engineer,I know that everyting as a natural frequancy. So does the soundboard and the components there in. These arement to resonate to the88 string sound andshould not be interfired with some speakerhowling beneeth it. The fact that we pay so much on pianosandlisten to origial piano music is that we appriciate the analoge sounds of the individual notes comming from each of those 88 strings. So use the speaker at least 5 ft a way. This will also give you a more surround or 3Deffect. If you have a good stereo system and speakers close to the piano you can have it hooked up and will make a differance.
Pass me your address to forward the CD's
Thanks and all the best with your move.
BUDD

>Hi Buddhika,

>Hi Roberts,
>
>Thanks for your email. Yes the disklavier works well both with the
>internal floppy drive which reads yamaha piano solo and piano soft
>files. As shown in the pictures on ebay, the disklavier can be driven by
>the Laptop via midi and this way you can play as many songs continuously
>as long as they can be i the hard drive and using the Juke box facility.
>Connecting a tone generator such as TG100 or any other keyboard via midi
>will give you additional back up sounds if the file has piano soft type

>The piano has damage tothe soundboard which is not original. The keys

>The Toshiba laptop has 100's of midi songs that work directly on the

>I like listening to the sentimental, blues and Jazz such as Misty,
>Serenade in blue, Moon river, Blueberry hills, I love paris, Ally cat
>Fly me to the moon, La Me, Unfogettable, and so on. There are

>Madona, Abba, all in all have quite a lot of it. Only problem is to find

>The laptop also has a program called Cakewalk which can be used to
