On a regular email with many recipients, I can see your point. This is true, but overlooks the fact that one can reply to an individual by copying only their email and sending just to them. I do it a lot, to cut down on non essential mail for the others. However, few people are either knowledgeable or willing to take the time to do it. Just like many will not cut out long posts and keep only the significant parts. I would have shortened the above post more but your email was already pretty short!
