Disklavier

Santa Clause brought my wife and I a DGA1XG Diskclavier for Christmas.
I have been playing with downloaded midi files for the last week or so
need some help. I can get about half my efforts to work.

Basic questions please:

The midi file has to have a piano track and it has to be 0 or 1?
If it's not, is there a way of moving the tracks around?
Is there a software package that will let me do basic editing for
producing files to play on the disklavier.

The midi file has to be a E-SEQ and SMF0 format.
I have used the dkutil programs to change files to ".FIL" and index
Is there an advantage using one format over the other?

I would like to take my "slimline" Sony Vaio laptop and set it up to
store and send files to the piano.

I have found several USB midi adapters, I need to find one that supports
Win2000.
Is there a website that I can purchase adapters, cables, and some type of
software that
will send the files to the piano.
