It sounds like you have a playback only Wagon Grand
made for Japan. I truly doubt that any other control box of a different
model can be installed - even if you could find one. That is a very early
model. The computer processing chip installed on the control board is
pre-programmed and not updatable. This was made before flash memory.
The front end, known as a control box, is merely an I/O part on this
model.
I think we have a problem with some recent
posts. The MX100A is a disklavier upright with a built-in control box in
the lid. It is not a stand-alone control box. You cannot put
different model control boxes into a disklavier.
Normally, you can upgrade the hardware by
installing a DSR1 control box that costs $1295 here in the U.S. It still
connects to the old control box through MIDI cables. However, I do not
believe that particular option is available for your piano.
