Thanks for helping out. I have that UX16 USB device that I havent used yet because of things not yet clear to me.

I want to buy a Sibelius sofware for the Mac and hook it up to the midi. Couple of questions --

1) With this setup, would Sibelius be able to capture the notes as Disklavier is playing a piano piece from the floppy?

2) I guess it's possible for a piano piece written in Sibelius to be played back to a Disklavier thur its midi?

You connect the MIDI IN to the MIDI out cables to the keyboard - always MIDI
In to a MIDI OUT. The USB end of the cable connects to your computer. You
install the drivers that came on the CD. You select software that runs on
your computer that will record the MIDI data. There are many programs that
do this called sequencer software. They can range from expensive to
freeware and shareware. No matter what sofware you use to record the MIDI
data, you MUST select your UX16 USB MIDI interface as the device you are
using in the Options menu. You can use headphones plugged into either your
computer soundcard or speakers to listen to your music.

The nice thing about MIDI is that it is only data. You can assign different
sounds to different tracks, change key signatures and tempo, etc. with just
a push of a button. Good luck!
