Yamaha's problem is that there is no real competition for this product. As far as the sale of pianos in general is concerned, it seems to me like pianos of greater quality could be produced for less money if there were only more folks willing to buy them. As far as player pianos are concerned, it seems like there is a big gap between the competition and disklavier. There is definitely room for someone to come up with equivalent player quality for more down-to-earth prices.
