Although your model of Disklavier will play back Type 1 SMFs, it will not let
you edit them. So, save them as Type 0 on the computer first, or use the
convert feature of your Disklavier to convert the file to SMF Type 0.

One other suggestion if you prefer to keep the file as Type 1: in your
computer sequencer, give the file a "sequence" title. (The exact name for
this type of title varies from software to software. Poke around a little
bit, and you will probably find a dialog box within your sequencer in which
you can at a title.)
