Re: Windows vista WMP 11 and MIDI

2008-05-14 by John Farmer

I have a Clavinova (CVP-70) which I used regularly with XP, and then
had the same problem when I upgraded to Vista. I think Spencer is
right in that there seems to be no way of getting Media Player in
Vista to recognise an external MIDI connection. I even tried
modifying the registry (you can use the utility REGEDIT), but it made
no difference. My solution has been to buy Sweet Midi Player from
www.ronimusic.com, which happily picks up my Yamaha UX-16 interface.
Sweet Midi can be used to modify the MIDI files, but it also has a
playlist facility, much like Media Player. There is a trial version,
or the full version costs $29.95, which didn't seem too bad.
Hope that helps,
