Converting eseq to midi and copying to a hard drive from a floppy disk

2008-05-23 by Sheldon H. Deluty, M.D.

Does anyone know how to convert eseq (fil) files from the yamaha format
to midi in vista, in order to copy and back them up to a hard drive from
a DD floppy disk?

I recently purchased the download version of yamaha files from yamaha
musicsoft website.

I am not interested in piracy; I simply would like to able to back up
the files I purchased from the DD floppy on which they were "written" by
the yamaha software to my hard drive

I tried to use the rootaripper program but it cannot read the disk.

I don't know if Yamaha has put some new bug in their files to make them
unrippable.

Any help would be most appreciated.

I think it is very unfair that if the floppy on which the files are
written becomes damaged, etc., there is no recourse but to repurchase
the files.

Anyone have any ideas how to back up these files?

Thank you for your time

Sheldon Deluty

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
