Why cant we remove the group members that appear on the spam messages? The freebie on shows the group users id.

We probably don't want ALL messages going through a moderator (nor would any moderator want that job!).
I'm the owner of a different yahoo group, and it gets absolutely no spam what-so-ever. The reason is that I set the group up so that you can't post messages to it until you are a member, and you can't become a member until I approve of the request. I can't recall if this group is also set up that way (my guess is that it is, otherwise we would be seeing a whole lot more spam!). Anyway, maybe we should ask for a disklavier serial number or something along those lines? It couldn't be quite that severe though, since there are a lot of valuable members in this group that don't actually own a disklavier.

Subject: [disklavier] Freebies & Herpes????I agree. Who needs to see this stuff on a Disklavier group? Anybody
checking what people post before it goes out???? If i get a vote, i
vote to have the moderator/administr ator filter messages. I don't need
to see this stuff.

They have both been removed and
banned one minute after I saw them. I do this frequently.
Having all messages held for me to moderate would greatly slow our exchanges,
since I might go three days or more without checking email. I'm looking
into a way to moderate only new members since invariably the spam happens within
a day of joining. Unhappily I receive ten times the volume that the group
does because it is sent to all group owners through the disklavier-owner@
address.
