Re: Images etc Mark 4

2008-09-08 by Joan Heitzeberg (Conahan)

The picture folder is used by the tablet that was an option for the
Mark IV Disklavier. It allows you to view these pictures in a
slideshow as well as puts these same pictures into the various frames
of some of the background selections.

I was successful in the earliest versions of software (September 2006)
to transfer jpg files to the 'Picture Folder' via wifi, in the same
manner that one transfers to the 'To/From PC folder'.

I do believe that it was necessary to name the file mysample##.jpg in
order that it be recognized by the software that runs the slideshow.
(where ## is a number). However, I have not tried uploading any jpgs
lately.

Mac Users Note: There was one other problem that I came across with
the type of jpeg file needed to work with the slideshow. The jpg file
had to have extension .jpg The file had to have the JFIF data
(basically a x and y density property). This JFIF data was not in
some of my jpeg files on my Macintosh, that I had taken with digital
cameras and saved in some of the photo type software. The best way to
make sure this JFIF data is available is to: load the jpeg file into
Preview and then resave as jpg file format with new name.

I vaguely remember there being a maximum number of jpegs that could be
used in the slideshow, but my memory might be wrong. I have not
played with this jpg stuff since September 2006. The photos
displayed as a slideshow were fun for awhile and the grandkids enjoyed
watching them as the music played, but haven't actually played with it
since. I usually try to test out all the features to make sure they
are working correctly even if I don't plan on using them at the time.

Hope this helps.

Joan

that Yamaha will do anything about that to bring it up to modern
standards, but there are some empty slots in that computer afterall. ;-)

out or S-VIDEO but instead a yukky old Composite video out... anyway

that has sample pics in it etc.. it must be there for a reason..? I
chucked a few random .jpg's there but in the SYSTEM under 'video out'
it only has the built-in samples ie nature, flowers, vacation, world
etc etc.. And in the 'From/To PC' it does not care about .jpg files.

that's the whole point? or do they have to be 'special yamaha soft
graphics blah format..' ?
