Re: [disklavier] Basic Setup: DCK/Yamaha C7 to iMac

Just think of work flow. Data goes OUT of the computer and IN to the piano to make it play. If recording, the data goes OUT of the piano and IN to the computer.

Hey, that did it!

Afraid to ask: Why does the "out" to in the "in" and vice versa??

That is probably the problem! The UX16 IN should connect to the MIDI OUT on the Disklavier, etc.

Thank you Carol, I shall give that a shot later tonight....

On the cables,, the UX 16, they are marked "IN" and "OUT" and I matched with the DCK.

Try reversing the MIDI cables. MIDI IN on interface goes to MIDI OUT on
piano. Sometimes the cable reads "To" MIDI IN or OUT so that also confuses
things. Just reverse the MIDI cables and see if the UX16 is recognized in
the MIDI options.

Also, the Disklavier needs to be set to Keyboard=Out in the MIDI set-up from
the Function menu.
