Re: [disklavier] Mark IV: Pianosoft Creation (SPS Rec) and changing track voices

2009-06-13 by Spencer_Lists

Greetings stophlong,

on the download page of my web site, there should be a midi type one to type 0 converter. it has an option to add a piano patch(instrument definitions) to channel 1 2 and or 3 of the files that it processes. if there is no patch in the files, this can be used to add some. voices are assigned to channels, not tracks. you can also use the remap patches program to change any that exist in the files. the URL for the download page is

Hi all,

A. Changing track voices:

The Yamaha Mark4 manual talks about "temporarily" changing the voice of a track (p28). Is there a way to make that change permanent? I've tried a few of the obvious options, but none seem to work.

If there is no way to do it, I hope that is on the list for future software upgrades as it would be a very nice thing.

B. Pianosoft Creation (SPS rec)

I've created a piano track to go with a song (SPS Rec) by playing along. That worked fine. Then I transferred the MID file to my PC to remove a couple of mistakes I made. Then I brought it back to

my disklaiver. I now want to re-synchronize it. There doesn't seem to be a way.

Is there a direct way? If no, has anyone had success with indirect ways? Perhaps having disklavier send a trigger/sync signal to my PC so it starts playing the piano keys? Or modifying the midi file to be "seen" as a pianosoft file?

If there's no way to do this...I'd also like to see in future software upgrades.

Thanks,

Christopher
