Re: [disklavier] Where to find high-resolution XP MIDI files?

2009-10-16 by athomik

I suspect it's a matter of scale. The New Pro version of the Mark IV makes up a very small proportion of Disklaviers sold. In addition, many of these end up in recording studios or other professional settings, where there is no demand for pre-recorded music. Overall, the market for XP MIDI files is very limited - I'm not aware of any system other than the New Pro and the LX which can utilise high resolution MIDI files. The way the format is implemented, also makes it awkward to edit, adding to the cost of producing commercial files.
