Questions regarding repair and/or bypass broken floppy drive on MX-100

2009-12-03 by jennylynnhylland

We just purchased a used MX-100A. Hired piano movers to move it, and the disk drive broke in transit. They said they would fix it, but I wanted to explore other options...just in case.

First, what is the easiest and most economical way to replace a disk drive?

Second, what is the exact set up for connecting a laptop to the MIDI input?

Does the cable go directly from the computer to the piano? MIDI format or Eseq? What software do you have to run on the computer to send the info to the piano?

If you could help with any of the aforementioned issues we would be most grateful.

Yours truly,
Jennifer Hylland
