Good afternoon, everyone. I don't think I saw any answers to these questions. I'll add my replies below: On Dec 3, 2009, at 2:00 PM, jennylynnhylland wrote: > We just purchased a used MX-100A. The simple 1 x 1 interfaces have MIDI plugs hardwired to them. One goes to the MIDI Out port on the Disklavier and the other goes to the MIDI In port. If you get them mixed up, just reverse them. > > Does the cable go directly from the computer to the piano? > See above. > MIDI format or Eseq? > Most MIDI playback programs for the computer play both Type 0 and Type 1 Standard MIDI Files. E-SEQ is an older, proprietary Yamaha format. I believe that the files section of this form has a Windows program for playing E-SEQ and another for converting E-SEQ to SMF. > What software do you have to run on the computer to send the info to the piano? > Any MIDI sequencer will do. If you have a Windows computer, the Van Basco program is a nice choice (www.vanbasco.com) because it enables you to have playlists. For the Macintosh, take a look at QMidi (www.mixagesoftware.com).
