RE: [disklavier] Re: Great tracks if you have kids / grandkids around

2010-03-18 by Aaron Zornes

I have PG Software's CHILDREN'S CLASSICS for DISKLAVIER .

PG Software (Vancouver, BC) got out of the Disklavier native business some
years ago but I still have some sets I use with my 3 and 5 year olds. Plus
everything else they produced (Blues, Jazz Pianist, New Orleans, etc. etc.)

Excellent, English, American and German children's classic songs .
tastefully done so that adults can handle multiple renditions.

Contact me direct if you want more details, as these might be considered
public domain by now in terms of performance rights (?).

Mark,

I've seen the video...It's worth connecting to see at least once...if for no
other reason than to witness the complete missed opportunity Yamaha has on
it's hands with regards to Pianosoft+Graphics.

All of my kids love these songs...especially when I drag out the monitor to
connect to the piano so they can see the video also.

Wow! Thanks for posting this. I wasn't aware of these demo tracks and will
check them out when the granddaughters come.

tracks that are simply wonderful (the others in here are mainly SmartKey and
are also quite good):

along. To make it more interactive, you need to play middle C for each
letter sung. This is simply wonderful for toddlers and my 20 month old
daughter loves it.

plays using the entire keyboard and instrumental accompanyment. The child
needs to introduce each verse by hitting middle-C to play the animal sound.
Again, my daughter loves this.

Although it isn't interactive, it is wondefully produced, using a
combination of narration, piano, and accompanying sound effects. If that
isn't enough, the piano itself plays a part in the story - for example, the
keyboard simulates the wind by running the keys up and down the piano as in
the Total Control demo, or when the door thumps. This is a truly amazing
demo.

them quickly when the kids are bored. I haven't attached a monitor to the
piano to see what the accompanying graphics look like - I will do this one
day - but if anyone has seen this, let me know if it is worth it.

its best. I also have a collection of nursery rhyme midi files that pale in
comparison to the quality and entertainment value (and hence get little play
time). Is anyone aware of any other pieces for kids (or adults!) that are
similarly impressive?
