Disklavier

Greetings Dokhanchi,

you have to configure VB to output to something other than the default
device which is usually the wavetable synth. you can change the
default in the registry which is a little different in each version of
windows and does not work at all in some. the easiest thing is to
click the little note symbol in the far upper left of the program
window for the option menu. then select the output device. if it is
not in the list you need to figure out why.

i do not have any experience with Linux but i do have experience with
crappy USB to MIDI adapters. stay away from the no name garbage. look
on Roland's site and on M-Audios to see if they mention Linux drivers.
both have excellent products. also as suggested, a sound card that has
Linux drivers might be the best solution if it is not a notebook
computer. try to determine that it does in fact have MIDI drivers for
Linux as MIDI is often overlooked.
