Gordon, did you get your MIDI setup working? If not, please ask the question again and let us know:
--Are you using a serial cable or a USB MIDI interface to connect the computer and Mark II?
--What software program are you using to play MIDI files on your Toshiba?

Not sure what to do next. The floppy disks work just fine but I would like to use the laptop. the Laptop is a Toshiba with vista as the operation system.
