Disklavier

I never saw a reply to Johns- question.  The DKC-850 use with the Iphone would be a cool new feature.  Is the new firmware coming soon?  Anyone know?   Dave

Hello all, I just joined this group and have found a lot of interesting information. My thanks to all who post.

I recently upgraded my Mark III upright (DU1A with silent pedal) to the new DKC-850 controller, which went smoothly and works great! It took about an hour all together, with the longest time spent trying to find in AUX IN jack on the piano (turned out to be on the back of the headphone jack module). Then I discovered my Pianosoft floppy disks would not play/read via a generic USB floppy, but thanks to this board, I found the dkvutils and was able to transfer my disks to the unit via my laptop! Thanks again!

Now, my question is about the version 3.0 firmware update. I have read about v 3.0, and especially like the idea of using my iPad for remote control. The Yamaha E3 site states it's for E3 Disklaviers, without mentioning the DKC-850 by name. I hesitate only because when I use the Internet function on the DKC-850 to check for a firmware update, it says I already have the most recent version! When I check the firmware version loaded, however, it is only v 2.5. So is the new 3.0 firware compatible with my control unit? I don't want to brick it so soon.
