Dear James, Good question, I have a DYUS1E3 (same size as U1) and the DKC850 is placed on top of it. I wondered the same thing. Under the keyboard on the left side I have the Silent system controller. There seems to be enough space on the right to place the controller, however if you need cables to access the ethernet/USB or speaker connections on the back of the controller it might be difficult to have tidy cable connections. Another issue might be that the lid to open the region below the keyboard is blocked if the controller is mounted under the keyboard. It seems that this lid can remain closed most of the time, but it does contain electronics and access to the bass and treble bridge, so if it needs to be opened the bracket needs to be removed. Hopefully this is of help, please let me know if you managed to mount the DKC850 below the keyboard.
