you should be able to turn the volume down if you just want background. personally, i like to "listen" to music or not bother to have it there at all. you can also reprocess all your files to play softer using a variety of programs. i wrote one called midimod2 that allows you to create "presets" to modify loudness and then to apply this modification to all files in a folder. you could, for example make a background set of music as soft as you want. you can find the program at the download page of my web site. http://spencerserolls.com/Files4Download.html you can contact me directly if you need any help with the program.
