I'm very positive about using both units together, and I'm pretty sure you can use the 850 as an "add-on" for your MkIII Disklavier. Just follow the installation instructions (It comes with all of the cables you'll need for either installation).  

For me this was a major upgrade to my piano for storage, wireless remote access, PC/laptop direct access, additional layered tones/accompaniment, free internet delivered firmware upgrades to keep up better with technologies/new features, better play list management/visibility, and more...

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
