Hi all As a new member I wanted to thank the group for the information (and files!) contained within the site. I almost purchased a used ex- Japanese market MX100MR until I read the comments on this topic. So I reconsidered and purchased a new MX1ZIIXG, certified for Australia, and installed by a Yamaha accredited technician. The cost delta was about $US2,000 which was a pleasant surprise. I also got 5 free disks into the bargain. Finally, I have used the dkvutils programs extensively recently (reinforcing other members' comments re pricing of Yamaha disks) and have perhaps a little tip to pass along. The documentation states that to copy (sorry - backup) Yamaha e-seq disks you need to use DOS. However if using a Win2000 system you don't have access to native DOS at all. I found that if you are copying Pianosoft disks you can use the command prompt and it works just fine. Not so Pianosoft Plus disks unfortunately. My cure here was to copy dkvcopy.exe to a bootable Win98 floppy I made up from an old computer. Works like a charm. Next project is to hook the MkIIXG to my computer as host! Regards
