I have the same Disklavier. You cannot play and record at the same time. I don't know any utilities that will convert ESEQ to MIDI on any Apple computer system. I have them all!
However, yes, you can download MIDI files on your computer to a floppy disk, and put that disk into the MarkIIXG Disklavier and it will nicely play the files!I suggest the purchase of a used PC laptop running Windows XP or earlier for using MIDI utilities on a Disklavier - GNMIDIf, and the DKV until.Caril BeigelOn May 12, 2012, at 1:48 AM, tintinlad320 wrote:Hello again
I have other questions:
(for the mpx1 MIIXG with module DKC500R)
-Can the disklavier record an incoming midi song (from computer) while it plays it (in the memory disc or the floppy) ? and if yes how to do that...
-Also is there anotherway to convert an e-seq file into midi than the Carol Beigel utility ESEQ2MID. I have an Imac (Apple).
-With my disklavier can I just from the computer take a floppy, format IBM and drop in there some midi files and then play that floppy on the disklavier ?
Lastly thanks to all for this great group!

There is a rather obscure feature on the IIXG that will enable you to record MIDI data from an external source. I believe that the instrument will play the data as it is recorded. The feature is called MIDI Data Record Mode (or MDR Mode).
--Press Record
--Press Voice
--Turn the Rotary Dial clockwise until you see MDR MODE REC on the screen
--Press the Right Arrow to advance to the next screen and set the channels that will receive the piano data (as opposed to the tone generator data)
--Press Play and then start play on your external sequencer
--Press Stop when done
