Welcome aboard new guys. We're glad you decided to join us.
So much for the niceties:
YOU GUYS HAVE TO START PULLING YOUR WEIGHT! We have a database on the site. As a new member you are required to go there immediately upon joining and record all the purchase information about your disklavier. Ok, I just made up that requirement, but you still have to do it. That means instead of 7 entries, we will have over 30 within a day or two. Oh yeah, and about the file vault. Since you new guys have uploaded NOTHING so far, I can only assume you are downloading a lot more than you're uploading. This may be a free site, but there's still no free lunch buckaroo! Pick your favorite (non-commercial) floppy off the top of the piano right now, zip it up and upload it. Do the math, 84 members, 84 disks uploaded, great collection of music for 84 members. That's why we're here! Get to work and enjoy the site. If you don't contribute, I will personally e-mail you many Megabytes of my 9 year-old's piano practice midi files, mislabeled as something you like. Just try me if you think I'm kidding!
Enjoy the site. You get out of it what you put in. Thanks.

OK, enough already! I'll see what I can do. At least give me time to
look through what is there so I don't upload doubles!

Actually - one comment/question. I see that the intent of the vault is
to store primarily piano solo with "light" orchestra. This makes sense
given the context of this group, but I personally have other MIDI gear
and a decent external sound system that I use together with my
Disklavier and so I tend to look for (and archive) stuff with moderate
to heavy orchestration. Which leads me to the question: How many
others are MIDI-wise and are using their Disklavier in a more elaborate
MIDI setup?? Time for another poll perhaps???

Now, time to go look through my files - I do have some solo Chick Corea
I discovered some time ago that might be a good place to start. I'm
not aware that they are copyright material - if anyone knows otherwise
please enlighten me.

Terry.

There is a very copyrighted PianoSoft Original Artist Disk by Chick called
Chick Corea Classics. Set my nanny back $35 as a gift for me last
Christmas. I believe it was also released in Europe under the title Spain.
It's easy to accidentally collect pirated stuff and not know it. We have
pulled a couple things off the vault when it was brought to our attention by
group members. This was a pure piano solo disk with no orchestration. If
you're talking about someone else's recording of songs by Chick it's
probably OK. If it's orchestrated, I also doubt its commercial. If you
suspect it's pirate, send me the song list, or the disk itself (I already
own it) by private e-mail and I'll check it for you. If after reading this,
you think it is different stuff, post it in good faith. If anyone spots
anything in the vault that they know to be copyrighted, they should post a
message and we'll pull it off and trust all the downloaders will delete any
copies they have.

Always remember to double check the TO: address of your e-mails. You
responded to the board, after receiving a personal harassing e-mail from me.
