Don't worry about that first album you see. Your E3 creates it and you cannot delete it.

UPDATE: a small problem still remains: I used a PC to download the folders of midi files and put them on a USB stick that was formatted by the same PC. The good news is that all the extraneous files are now gone as expected and each album only shows the true song files. However, the Disklavier control panel still showed Album 1 as an empty Album and all the music folders showed up starting from Album 2. This blank Album 1 could not be removed by the DELETE feature. So I am at a lost as to how this blank Album 1 got in there. Is this the way it is supposed to be? Viewed on the PC, I did not see any folders other than the music folders. Does the PC insert hidden folders as well?

< p>Thank you George for the advice. I will check out the program you recommended. It seems to be a very useful utility for Mac people. I appreciate the tip.

Good evening, everyone.
Minh, I recommend that you get a program for your Mac called Blue Harvest (http://www.zeroonetwenty.com/blueharvest/). This program will enable you to keep external drives (such as USB flash drives) "clean." In other words, it will prevent your USB flash drives from accumulating this ghost files.
This handy program costs $14.95.

Thank you Jeanne. I used a PC to download the files and the problem was avoided. Per your suggestion I tried a program that allowed me to see the hidden files. There seemed to be fewer of them than I would expect, but anyway, going the PC route took care of it. I haven't tried to see if deleting these few hidden files would be enough to take care of all the extraneous files that I saw, but definitely it is a Mac issue.

Macs copy "hidden files" along with the music files - they start with a period, I believe. You can see the hidden files with some programming commands on Mac, but it's not simplistic. You might want to use a PC (sacrilege, I know) if this bug s you too much. The other alternative is to just copy the "real" files to the permanent memory in your disklavier.

I am new and I hope that somebody can help me answer this question. I couldn't find anyone who asked this same question on the forum. Mine is a brand new DGB1KE3.
I purchased a downloadable Chopin Recital album from Yamaha Music that came in the form of a folder containing 12 MIDI files. I copied this folder onto a blank USB stick (via a MacBook Pro) and inserted the USB stick into the front panel USB port. This album would show up as Album No. 2 on the control unit display panel. Album 1 is empty and could not be deleted when I used the DELETE function. Furthermore, in Album 2 that contains the music files, I noticed that the first 12 "files" or "songs" don't contain any music, just the titles. Nothing would play when I tried to play them. The real music starts from Song 13 to 24 with the same titles repeated. In other words, to play Song 1 on the Disklavier, I have to use the directional con trol pad to go all the way to file 13. If I look into the content of the USB stick from my MacBook pro I only see one folder with 12 MIDI files. This same problem also happens to any other MIDI files from another source such as disklavierworld.
I just wonder if anyone has this same issue. Thank you in advance for your help.
