Which Yamaha Disks Can you Recommend?

Which Yamaha Disks Can you Recommend?

2002-01-15 by clare@excelsiordirect.com

Hi Folks!

We're anticipating the arrival of our DC3A sometime soon, and were thinking of splashing out on a few Yamaha Pianosoft Disks - can anyone recommend any ?

Better still - does anyone know of any that I should avoid or not bother with ?

Has anyone tried:
a. Pianosoft Plus Audio
b. "The Original Recordings Collection"
c book/disk collections - "You are the artist"

Someone somewhere (perhaps on another list?) mentioned that the Beatles PianoSoft Disk wasn't worth buying - does anyone agree, as that would be one I might have bought.....

Last question - does anyone have a Yamaha disk with The Pink Panther Theme on it - if so, which disk is it, as I think it's brilliant. Its on a sample disk that's with the loan upright Disklavier we're currently borrowing from the dealer (long story....)

Cheers
Clare

PS don't worry - I'll let you all know when the Grand arrives - we're really enjoying the upright at the moment and so anticipate many hours tinkling away when our piano finally arrives!

Hi Clare

What a difficult question to answer. One Man,s music is other Man's
Noise.

I can only say from my own personal view, that most of Yamaha's
Pianosoft disks are not worth the price, £30 here in the UK.
You can get them cheaper as some shops are selling the older stock
off for as little as £9.99
The reason I say that, is because I like to relax with the piano and
most of Yamaha's disk are what I would call Perfomance. In other
words listen to me play this piano, good or bad.
I would recommend just one "A Night at the Croucho Club" by Harry
Harris EMS PS 003.
I one I hate, is infact, a Beatles one. It is called "Beatles Once
More" by Francois Glorieux YPA-1005E DO NOT BUY Listen at your own
risk.
I have a vast collection of Pianosoft disks, too many to comment on
them all. The above are just the best and worst.

Happy listen

Clare- I'm a new disklavier owner and recently acquired the Pianosoft disk
"The Best of Elton John" and have really enjoyed it. If you're an Elton fan,
I think it's a safe bet! -Larry
