2006 Mark IV CD Player Broken...replacement parts?

2006 Mark IV CD Player Broken...replacement parts?

2016-03-29 by drwebmail@...

I just received my 2006 Mark IV DC1. In the process of updating it to 4.0, the CD Player jammed and no longer spins. I pulled off the install with a USB CD drive however I would like to get the CD player working again so I can easily buy Disklavier CDs, etc.

I called Yamaha and they said I needed 3 parts: a new CD drive, an eject button, and a new flap to cover the disklavier for $300. All of these are needed because apparently the new CD drive is a different size than the original. Since I am going to likely have to have someone install this the costs will be quite excessive.

I was trying to figure out the part number for the drive in my Mark IV controller but I am not sure how.
Is there a way to find the original CD drive on ebay or from a supply house?

Thanks in advance!

Hi mate,

Might be too late for the topic but I faced similar issue with my Mark IV yesterday - CD was not working at all. I just replaced it with the first one I found in the storage and it worked straight away without an issue. The default pin button from the cover fits perfectly almost any standard eject button on any CD drive. I think there should not be an issue here.

Good luck,
Dmitry

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
