DKC-850 Internal memory

DKC-850 Internal memory

2016-11-03 by rightnightboy@...

Hi everybody :)

I have a probably very simple question to be solved but I can't find any answers so..:

When I connect my Imac to the DKC-850, it show that the free space available in the FromToPc area is 6.8 Mb. The whole DKC is actually empty there is nothing in the internal memory section nor in the FromToPc section... Its supposed to hold up to 128 mb... what to do to solve this strange limitation ?

While we are at it... are there different limits between the peppery reserved for the "memory" section and the "FromToPc" section ?

And in the FromToPc section can I put there .wav files (audio+midi formatted) OR normal audio wav.files OR any other formats than .mid and FIL ?

Thanks for the lights lol

If it's like the MarkIV (and I'm pretty sure it is), the FromToPc is a carved off area that doesn't represent the entire memory. And, the only thing that works from there on the MarkIV are midi (and fil, probably), no wav support.

Kevin is correct. The DKC850 cannot "see" audio or wave files on an external device.

Thanks guys for this info... I have this feeling (again) that the technology of that DKC is old...like 15-20 years ago...so strange for a big name like Yamaha.

Lets hope that some firmware updates will eventually push forward !

Thanks again
