Willy & Julian,

If the volume is too loud using the iPad with the music tracks supplied with the Enspire and you have already adjusted volume settings on both the box (with the blue and green lights) at front left under keyboard of the piano and the volume settings in the iPad, then It seems that you may need recalibration or reset to factory settings. Have you no support from where you purchased the Disklavier? You should contact Yamaha support in your area.

Otherwise, if you are sending other midi files via midi cable or to wifi units plugged into midi ports, and the problem is only that they are too loud, then the problem lies with those midis. You need to open them in a midi editor and lower the note velocity levels within those midis before playing them through the piano.

I have many hundreds of midi files playing through the midi in port on my Enspire – but this is only achieved by optimising the maximum note velocities in the files to suit my Enspire and I do that whenever I open a new midi file for the first time.

Send me some (or all) of the midis which are playing too loud. I will easily and quickly adjust them and send them back.

If you want to adjust the velocities yourself, you can use the MidiMod2 program from the download page of my web site. You can use the included stock volocity modification profiles or create your own to suit you piano and environment. http://www.spencerserolls.com
